The 8th Annual Western Maine Fly Fishing Expo will bring everything you need to prepare for that day together under one roof. Next year's Expo will include exhibitors, a kid's fly tying bench, a casting area where people can test drive the newest rods, a large selection of fishing related silent auction items to bid on, and raffles. Well known guest speakers including authors and leaders in the industry. Topics to be announced, and may include:
- Maine's mythical blueback trout
- Effects of climate change in Maine's western mountains
- History of fly rods
- Fishing for trophy, salmon and trout in remote locations
- Tankara fly fishing
- Fishing high pressure waters
- Casting and other fly fishing related demonstrations
The Western Maine Fly Fishing Expo has helped the Mollyockett Chapter of Trout Unlimited to raise over $30,000. As a result of this success, the funds have allowed us to complete many cold water fisheries conservation, protection, and restoration projects, as well as our many annual youth, adult, and veterans education programs.
